AGLC4 Rule 25.2: Legislation: Code
United States statutes are normally cited to the federal or state subject code in which they are consolidated, which is preferred to the session laws. A code citation gives an optional title, the title or chapter number where needed, the abbreviated code name, the pinpoint, and a bracket with any publisher and the year.

Formatting
- An optional italic statute title is followed by a roman comma.
- Division number, code abbreviation, section symbol and pinpoint are separated by spaces with no commas.
- The closing round bracket holds the publisher (for unofficial codes) and the year with only a space between them.
