AGLC4 Rule 25.2.1: Statute Title and Original Pinpoint

A code citation usually omits the statute's name, but the session law title may be added when the statute is commonly known by it, when it aids identification, or for another good reason. With a title, the original pinpoint in the session law may also be given straight after the title.

Formatting

  • An included title is italic and is followed by a roman comma.
  • A year forming part of the title is kept in the title.
  • A leading The is dropped from the title.
  • An original pinpoint follows the italic title after a space with no comma, and is itself followed by a comma.
  • The code year is still given in round brackets even when the title contains a year.
