Captions That Meet The Standard
Most auto-tools dump unreadable text. We apply the rules broadcasters use.
- Maximum 42 characters per line, never more than 2 lines
- Reading speed capped at 20 characters per second
- Minimum and maximum cue durations enforced (5/6s–7s)
- Smart line breaks at clauses, never mid-word
- A live compliance meter flags any cue that reads too fast
- Optional speaker labels for closed-caption (CC) output
Frequently Asked Questions
What subtitle formats can I download?
SRT and WebVTT are available on every plan, plus styled ASS (including karaoke word-by-word captions) for advanced use. All are generated with standards-compliant timing.
Can I generate subtitles for a movie or long video?
Yes. Upload the video file (or its audio) and the generator handles full-length films and long videos, segmenting and timing the captions automatically.
Can I edit the subtitles before downloading?
Yes. Subtitle Studio lets you edit the text, retime cues by dragging, split or merge lines, and shift the whole track to fix sync, all in the browser.
Can I translate the subtitles?
Yes. Translate the caption track into another language while preserving the original timing, then export a separate file per language.
