AGLC4 Rule 5.9: Symposia

A symposium cited as a whole is cited like an article, except that Symposium takes the author's place, the symposium's title is quoted, and the starting page is that of its first article or of any title page or introduction. Individual articles within a symposium are cited as ordinary articles.

  • The word Symposium, roman, takes the author position and is followed by a comma.
  • The symposium's title is in single quotation marks and roman.
  • The starting page is where the first article begins, or where any symposium title page or introductory section begins.
  • Year, volume, issue and journal follow the ordinary article rules.
