AGLC4 Rule 5.2: Journal Articles: Title

Article titles follow rule 4.2 and are placed in single quotation marks. They are roman, apart from words the source itself italicises.

Formatting

  • The title is enclosed in single quotation marks.
  • The title is roman; only words italic in the source, such as case names, are italicised.
  • A comma follows the author before the title.
  • No punctuation follows the title; a space separates the closing quotation mark from the year.
  • A subtitle follows a colon and a space, under rule 4.2.
  • Quotation marks within the title become double quotation marks.
