AGLC4 Rule 24.2.2: Legislation: Jurisdiction

Include or omit the jurisdiction according to the table. Where it is omitted, the title is followed by a roman comma.

Formatting

  • The jurisdiction is in round brackets directly after the italic title and year.
  • Acts of the United Kingdom Parliament from 1 January 1963 take (UK); earlier Acts omit the jurisdiction.
  • (Imp) may be used for Acts of the Imperial Parliament before 1963, and no comma follows it before the regnal year.
  • Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales use (NI), (Scot) and (Wales).
  • With no jurisdiction, a roman comma follows the title before the regnal year.
