AGLC4 Rule 13.1.1: World Trade Organization: Constitutive and Basic Documents
The Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO is cited as a treaty under chapter 8. The other WTO agreements and understandings are annexes to it, so they are cited through the Marrakesh Agreement: the full Marrakesh citation, a pinpoint to the annex, the title of the agreement in quotation marks and parentheses, then any pinpoint within it. A short title may follow, and subsequent references use the short title or title with (n X) and a pinpoint.

Format
Quoted from the Guide, page 184A boxed element is filled in with the source's details; everything outside a box is written exactly as shown.
Formatting
- The Marrakesh Agreement citation is fixed: italic title, comma, opened for signature and the date, comma, 1867 UNTS 3, then the entry into force in round brackets.
- The annex pinpoint is the word annex in roman lower case with the annex designation (such as 1A or 2), after one space and no comma.
- The title of the annexed agreement or understanding is italic, inside curly single quotation marks, inside round brackets, one space after the annex pinpoint.
- A pinpoint within the annexed agreement follows that bracket after a space, with no comma, using treaty pinpoint abbreviations such as art.
- An optional short title comes last, italic, inside curly single quotation marks and round brackets.
- An annexed agreement is never cited as a free-standing treaty; where an annex holds more than one agreement (annexes 1A and 4), the particular agreement must be named.
- A subsequent reference is the italic short title (or title), a space, (n and the footnote number), a space, the pinpoint and a full stop.
