AGLC4 Rule 7.11.2: Electronic Newspapers

An online article follows the print form, but the bracket reads online and the date in place of the place of publication, and a URL is always given. A pinpoint is included only if the online version has page or paragraph numbers.

Formatting

  • The author, curly quoted title and italic newspaper name are as for print.
  • The bracket reads online, a comma and the full date; no place of publication is given.
  • Any pinpoint follows the bracket after a space, but only where the online version is paginated or numbered.
  • The URL follows after a space in angle brackets, with no spaces inside them.
  • An archived copy may be added after the URL as a comma, the words archived at and the permanent link in angle brackets.
  • The citation ends with a full stop.
