AGLC4 Rule 3.1.2: Statutes (Acts of Parliament): Year
The year the Act was first passed follows the title, also in italics, whether or not the official short title contains it. The year stays that of original enactment even when the provision cited was added later, and the principal Act rather than an amending Act is normally cited.

Formatting
- The year is italic, continuing the italic run of the title.
- A single space separates title and year, with no comma.
- The year is that of original enactment, never the year of an amendment, reprint or consolidation.
- The year is supplied even if the official short title omits it.
- For ACT and NT legislation the year is that in which the original ordinance was made.
- The principal Act is cited rather than the amending Act, unless legislative history is being shown under rule 3.8.
