AGLC4 Rule 9.2.2: Official Documents of the United Nations: Title

The title of the document is given in italics. Some UN documents, including most Security Council resolutions, have no title.

Formatting

  • The title is italic and followed by a comma.
  • Where the document has no title, the citation moves straight to the next element.
  • A superscript ordinal inside a title is set roman, interrupting the italics.
