AGLC4 Rule 7.5.3: Evidence to Parliamentary Committee

Oral evidence to a committee is cited with the words Evidence to, the committee, the legislature, the place of the hearing, the date and the page, followed by the witness in brackets, whose position may be added. Committee name prefixes that appear in Hansard page numbers are dropped from the pinpoint.

Formatting

  • The citation begins with the roman words Evidence to.
  • Committee, legislature, location, date and pinpoint follow in that order, each separated by a comma and space, all roman.
  • The chamber is added before the committee name where the committee belongs to one chamber and its name does not say which.
  • The page pinpoint omits any letter prefix used in the committee Hansard.
  • The witness follows the page after a space in round brackets; a position may follow the name after a comma inside the bracket.
  • Nothing in the citation is italic.
  • The citation ends with a full stop.
