AGLC4 Rule 7.14.4: Radio Segments and Podcasts

Episode titles are reproduced exactly, including any number or date that forms part of them. For radio, the bracket names the producer, usually the first broadcasting station; for podcasts, use the title shown on the listening platform and omit the producer where it matches the series title. The full date is required, fixed by the time zone where the program originates. A whole series is cited as for television.

Formatting

  • The episode title is copied exactly as given, including episode numbers, dates and superscript ordinals within it, in single curly quotation marks followed by a comma.
  • A quotation inside the episode title uses double curly quotation marks, which may sit immediately inside the closing single quotation mark.
  • The series or podcast title is italic.
  • The bracket gives the producer or station, a comma and the full date, rather than just a year.
  • The producer is omitted where it is the same as the series title.
  • The date is the one in the time zone where the program originated, which may differ from the date shown locally.
  • A time pinpoint and a URL in angle brackets may follow the bracket.
