AGLC4 Rule 25.1.1: Cases: Parties’ Names

Party names follow the general case name rule, with two United States adjustments: the italic name is followed by a roman comma before the volume, and a comma that precedes an incorporation word such as Inc or Corp inside a company name is removed.

Formatting

  • The whole case name is italic, including the lower case v, which has no full stop.
  • A comma follows the case name and is not italicised; a space then precedes the volume.
  • No comma appears before Inc, Corp or a similar corporate designation within a party name, even if the party itself uses one.
