AGLC4 Rule 2.7.1: Transcripts of Proceedings: General Rule

Cite a transcript as Transcript of Proceedings, then the case name, and in brackets the court, the proceeding number if the transcript shows one, every judicial officer hearing the matter and the date, then the pinpoint. Pinpoints are to pages, or to line numbers where lines run continuously. The speaker may follow the pinpoint, but during argument is not added.

Formatting

  • Transcript of Proceedings is roman, in title case and followed by a comma.
  • The case name is italic.
  • Court, proceeding number, judicial officers and date share one pair of round brackets, separated by a comma and a space.
  • The court is named in full.
  • The proceeding number is included only where it appears on the transcript.
  • All judicial officers hearing the matter are named in the rule 2.4.1 form.
  • The pinpoint follows the closing bracket after a space with no comma.
  • The speaker may be named in round brackets after the pinpoint (rule 2.4).
  • during argument is never added to a transcript citation.
