AGLC4 Rule 2.2.3: Abbreviations for Report Series

Abbreviate the report series using appendix A and never put it in italics. The table lists the most commonly cited authorised or preferred Australian series by court or jurisdiction; the common unauthorised series are ALR, ALJR, FLR, Fam LR and A Crim R. A series missing from appendix A is written out in full.

Formatting

  • The series abbreviation is roman, never italic.
  • Abbreviations follow appendix A exactly, with no full stops and with their internal spaces kept.
  • A bracketed jurisdiction that forms part of a series abbreviation is part of the abbreviation.
  • A series not in appendix A is given in full, still roman.
  • An open year range in the table means the series is still current.
