AGLC4 Rule 10.3: Reported Pleadings or Other Documents Originating in ICJ or PCIJ Proceedings
A reported pleading or other document from ICJ or PCIJ proceedings is cited by its title in quotation marks, the case name and parties, the year of the volume, the pleadings series and starting page, a page pinpoint and, if helpful, the speaker's name. ICJ pleadings are published by case and volume; PCIJ pleadings appear in series C, organised by number, where one number may contain several separately paginated parts.

Formatting
- The document title is roman, in curly single quotation marks, followed by a comma, and follows chapter 1.
- The case name and parties follow rules 10.2.1 and 10.2.2 and are italic; a phase or advisory opinion designation may be included, italic and bracketed.
- The year of the volume is in square brackets; where the volume shows no year, the year of the decision in the relevant phase is used.
- For the ICJ, ICJ Pleadings follows the year, preceded by a Roman numeral volume number where the case has several volumes, then the starting page after a space.
- For the PCIJ, PCIJ (ser C) No and the number follow the year, with pt and a Roman numeral part number where the number has parts, then a comma and the starting page.
- A comma separates the starting page from the page pinpoint, which follows rule 10.2.7.
- A speaker's name may follow a pinpoint in round brackets; judges follow rule 10.2.8 and counsel follow rule 2.4.4, and each pinpoint may carry its own speaker.
