AGLC4 Rule 10.2.6: Starting Page and Case Number

An ICJ decision gives the page on which it starts in the report, which is normally where the judgment itself begins as shown in the mode of citation information. A PCIJ decision instead gives its sequential case number, because pagination within a series is not continuous.

Formatting

  • For the ICJ, the starting page follows the series after a single space.
  • The starting page is the first page of the judgment, not the title page or the mode of citation page.
  • For the PCIJ, the series letter bracket is followed by No, with no full stop, a space and the case number, in place of a page.
