AGLC4 Rule 8.5: Reservations or Declarations to Articles of a Treaty

A reservation or declaration a state has made about an article of a treaty is cited to the state's own instrument, such as its instrument of ratification or the domestic document containing the reservation, rather than to the treaty itself.

Formatting

  • The instrument is cited under the rule for its own kind of source, not under the treaty rule.
  • Where the instrument is foreign legislation, the italic title with its year is followed by the jurisdiction in round brackets and then the section pinpoint after a single space.
