AGLC4 Rule 2.5: Case History

The later history of a case may be added after its citation, using affd for affirmed or revd for reversed, followed by the citation of the later decision. Leave out the later case name where it is the same or the parties are merely reversed.

Formatting

  • A comma and a space follow the original citation.
  • affd or revd follows, lower case, roman, with no full stop.
  • The later decision is then cited in full in its ordinary form.
  • The later case name is italic where it is included.
  • The later case name is omitted where it is unchanged or only the order of the parties is reversed.
