AGLC4 Rule 2.4.3: Joint and Separate Judgments

Where a judge delivers the judgment of the court, add for the Court after that judge's name. Where a judge delivers a judgment on behalf of named judges including themselves, add for and the names of all of them. Do not use this form where the other judges gave their own concurring reasons.

Formatting

  • The words sit inside the roman judge bracket after the delivering judge's name.
  • for is lower case and Court has a capital C.
  • Where named judges are listed after for, all of them are named, including the delivering judge, with the plural title after the last name.
  • Concurring judges with their own reasons are shown under rule 2.4.2 instead.
