AGLC4 Rule 2.3.3: Proceedings

A proceeding with no judgment or order yet, or one discontinued before any judgment or order, may be cited by case name, court, proceeding number and the date it began. The proceeding number is the court's own number for the matter.

Format

Formatting

  • The case name is italic; the bracketed details are roman.
  • Court, proceeding number and commencement date share one pair of round brackets, separated by a comma and a space.
  • The court is named in full.
  • The proceeding number is written with no spaces.
  • The date is introduced by the lower case word commenced.
  • The date is day, month in words and year.
  • The citation ends with a full stop after the closing bracket.
